Ovulation induction and fertility medicines we carry
The medicines here are used in fertility care, mostly to stimulate ovulation. Clomifene citrate, stocked at 25MG, 50MG and 100MG, is the long-established oral option and works by prompting the pituitary to release more follicle-stimulating hormone. Enclomiphene, one of the two isomers of clomifene, is carried separately. Letrozole is also used in ovulation induction and appears in this category as well as among the aromatase inhibitors. The injectable gonadotrophins, menotropin and urofollitropin, are stocked in vials measured in international units and act directly on the ovary rather than through the pituitary.
Timing and monitoring are the whole thing
Timing is the defining feature of this category. Oral ovulation induction is given for a short run of days early in the cycle, and the injectables follow a schedule built around monitoring. That monitoring (ultrasound tracking of follicle development, and blood work) is not an optional extra. It is what allows the response to be judged and the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation and of multiple pregnancy to be managed. Neither can be assessed from home.
Side effects and hyperstimulation risk
Side effects with the oral agents commonly include hot flushes, mood changes and, less often, visual disturbance. Visual symptoms are a recognised reason to stop and seek advice rather than push on. The injectables carry the additional risk of hyperstimulation, which can be serious.
Working to your clinic's schedule
If you are under the care of a fertility clinic, follow the schedule they set rather than general instructions, and tell them before substituting a brand, since the injectables in particular are dosed precisely.
Handling injectable gonadotrophins
Injectable gonadotrophins are supplied as powder with a diluent and are made up immediately before use. Several need refrigeration, and the pack states the in-use period once reconstituted. Sharps are disposed of in a proper container rather than household waste.
Sourcing, expiry dates and delivery
Every listing shows the molecule, the strength in milligrams or international units, and the pack size, with the guaranteed minimum expiry date displayed before purchase. All stock ships from India through licensed distributors with at least twelve months of shelf life remaining.
