About alpha blockers
Alpha blockers relax the muscle in blood vessel walls and are usually added when other blood pressure medicines are not enough. Prazosin is sold here as Prazopress XL and terazosin as Hytrin; both also ease urinary symptoms from an enlarged prostate.
The first dose can cause dizziness on standing, so it is often taken at bedtime.
