Anticoagulant, iron chelation and anaemia medicines we carry
The medicines here act on the blood in quite different ways. Heparin, stocked at 5000IU, is an injectable anticoagulant used to prevent and treat clots. Deferasirox, at 500MG, removes excess iron in people who receive regular blood transfusions. Desidustat is a newer oral treatment for anaemia in chronic kidney disease, and cilostazol treats the leg pain of peripheral arterial disease. Adrenaline injection is listed here too.
Heparin units and handling
Heparin is measured in international units rather than milligrams, and the strength per millilitre matters as much as the total, so check both on the listing. It is given by injection, and bleeding, bruising at injection sites and changes in platelet count are what is monitored during use.
Iron chelation needs regular tests
The deferasirox dose is set by body weight and by iron levels measured in the blood, and whether it is taken with food or on an empty stomach depends on the formulation, so follow the instructions for the product you have. Kidney and liver function are checked regularly while on it, because both can be affected.
Cilostazol and desidustat
Cilostazol takes several weeks to improve walking distance, is taken away from meals, and is not used in heart failure. Desidustat is prescribed and monitored by a kidney specialist, with haemoglobin checked to guide the dose. Every listing shows the molecule, strength, form and pack size, with the guaranteed minimum expiry date. All stock ships from India through licensed distributors.
