Antibiotics made for the bladder

Nitrofurantoin and fosfomycin concentrate in the urine, which makes them a common first choice for uncomplicated bladder infections. Nitrofurantoin, sold here as Niftas and Uriheal, is usually taken for a few days. Fosfomycin (Fosfocin) is a single-dose sachet dissolved in water.

An infection with fever, back pain or blood in the urine may have reached the kidneys and needs a doctor, not a bladder antibiotic.
