Stud 5000 (Lidocaine)

Stud 5000 is Univ's lidocaine. Lidocaine is a local anaesthetic, and in sprays and gels for the penis it is used to numb the skin and reduce sensitivity.

Applied to the head and shaft of the penis, lidocaine is used to delay ejaculation in men with premature ejaculation, by lowering sensitivity. Lidocaine is also used as an anaesthetic for minor procedures, for pain relief on the skin and in dental work.

Lidocaine blocks sodium channels in nerve endings, so pain and touch signals are not sent to the brain. On the penis it reduces the sensation that triggers the ejaculation reflex, and the effect starts within about five to fifteen minutes.

For the spray, a few metered sprays are applied to the head and shaft of the penis, usually five to fifteen minutes before intercourse, then left to absorb. Wipe off any excess before sex, and use a condom if the spray cannot be fully absorbed, since lidocaine can numb the partner. Follow the directions on the pack and from your doctor, and do not apply to broken skin.

Not for people allergic to lidocaine or other amide anaesthetics. Do not apply to open sores or irritated skin, and keep it away from the eyes and mouth. Wash your hands after use. Use with caution with heart rhythm medicines and with severe liver disease. Oil-based products can weaken latex condoms, so check the pack for compatibility.
