Demelan Cream 20GM (Glycolic Acid+hydroq)

Demelan Cream 20GM is Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd's glycolic Acid+hydroq cream, 10/5/2%, in a tube of 20gm. Glycolic acid with hydroquinone is a combination cream that peels the surface of the skin while lightening dark patches.

The cream is used for melasma, age spots and other dark patches, and for rough or dull skin, often with a third active such as kojic acid or a vitamin.

Glycolic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid that loosens the bonds between dead surface skin cells, so they shed faster. That also helps hydroquinone, which blocks the enzyme that makes melanin, reach the pigment cells. Together they fade patches more quickly.

A thin layer is applied to the affected skin once or twice a day, usually at night, as directed. Use it for the length of time your doctor sets, and take breaks. Follow the pack leaflet.

Test a small area first. Avoid the sun and use sunscreen every day, because both ingredients make the skin sensitive. Not for use in pregnancy or breastfeeding unless your doctor says so, and not on broken or very irritated skin.
